Living Remnant   

 

This ancient rainforest is further east than all of Europe and most of Asia. It has faced – and withstood - the vast ocean that covers half of the globe for more than sixty million years. The huge convoluted trees, each a world and ecosystem in itself, support and protect many veils of canopy that hold back the fireball of the Sun, preserving the deep waters of the Earth residing undisturbed at their roots. 

         This forest first grew out of the bones of a massive volcano that was active when the last dinosaurs stalked on a slightly smaller Earth. For many millions of years, species have been born here, arising and spreading from this multiplex arcology of life forms – several thousand species of animals and plants detail each acre of soil.

         This week avocados, raspberries, guavas, lilli pillis and feijoa and early lemonade fruit and limes are all ripe, in a century old clearing torn out of the forest for domesticated aurochs by enslaved native labourers working under domesticated primate squatters. Their horned beasts with horny hooves kept the forest from regenerating, compacting the soil and reducing a vast productive garden to a monoculture of meat, grass and thistles. The Earth responded with prickles and thorny vines in an attempt to bandage itself and hold off its assailants.

         Into this sunny space eye began planting trees since my arrival decades ago, many of which are now bearing organic fruit and nuts and slowly recreating canopies. Tons. Replacing and diversifying the rainforest is a long rewarding process. The now shady riverbanks, held back by the bindings of a milliard strong roots vining through them no longer collapse into the ocean. 

         Eye leap into the water in a shallow dive, eyes wide to see twin tortoises darting away beneath me, eyes abulge as they’re taken unawares by my gliding shadow. Today while standing in the river, surrounded by a ticklish cloud of fearless fingerling fish, a young silver perch dives up out of the river, momentarily flying in air before falling back in a ballistic flight toward the Sun, six plashing leaps leaving seven circles spreading in its wake as it returns to the liquid crystal with a blue dragonfly quivering in its jaws. A large catfish lolls beneath a half submerged mossy log, sucking algae from the ancient wood with rubbery kisses. Hands cupped, eye drink deep the liquid crystal.

         Today and yesterday eye make mulch, carry wood and stone, pick fruit (and eat it) and make plans for more plants while cleaning up the autumn detritus of a wet and fertile year. 

         A young goanna scampers up as the guinea fowl, chickens and peahen are fed, darting in expectantly to share the food with them. They stand back, complaining. Each sunset the house possum – born in the cobwebbed loft a few months ago -arrives for its customary meal of whatever’s been left on the table, bench or sink before greeting the night.

         Eye test a found object – a car battery – by writing this, using it to power the computer. It works. 

         

Paradise takes nothing but time – and a little care. There’s plenty for everyone – but the Garden has very little room for carnivores or banal, blind predation by large, destructive horned meat. 

         What once lived where you live now? Is it possible to truly know what you’ve lost when it’s gone?

         And will it come back before or after you’re gone?

Between Fire and Ice

Events hidden behind the shroud of history leave their marks in the makeup of human beings down to the current day. It’s amazing that anyone survived the times when planetary bodies passed close by the Earth. Beyond decimation, some survived on the surface where natural refuge existed due to luck or geography or both. In a time of tidal waves and meteoric bombardment many regions were rendered virtually lifeless while a few emerged almost unscathed. 

          There were many places of refuge beneath the surface of the Earth, from caves known to tribal peoples for many millennia to subterranean citadels beneath mountain fastnesses and ancient catacombs beneath cities. Modern humanity has, to a large extent, replicated these sanctums. Many would be surprised to know what lies beneath their feet in this age, in natural and man-made habitats; bunkers for rulers and their servants and tunnels used by the modern intelligence priesthood., to mention only a few modern troglodytes. 

         Replicating the conditions they had left in the shattered places of their origins, some dwelt between fire and ice in places that were suddenly frozen in areas of geothermal activity. The most recent series of these inter-global events in ‘historical’ times is recalled by the Hebrews as a time of Mara, of bitterness, of the all-consuming wind Moriah. Rabbinical sources aver that less that one in ten of the people survived to leave Egypt in the time of the Exodus. 

         The biblical plagues of Egypt are a clear description of that time, with some misinterpretations through mistranslation. The ‘flower’ of the people were killed, for instance, not the ‘first born’. 

         'Disaster' means 'evil star'.

         Another description, recorded originally by the Babylonians, has often been mistaken for a prophecy of the future. It may well be, but the Book of Revelations is actually a description of an earlier series of these cataclysmic events, when Marduk/Lucifer fell past Gaia. It’s a tale with its origins in the time of the split between the sexes.

         The fall from grace, from the golden age, takes many forms and is reiterated on many levels. Some fell through the rainbow of light – beings who existed before matter, before Mater Gaia, before the mother, as conscious entities (sometimes in plasma form and some more truly multidimensional) even before the congealing of matter as we know it. They came to explore these more solid dimensions which they discovered. Many incarnated here, often as group entities. 

          And then came another series of Falls…

 We hate to fan the fires of either conspiracists or those so-called skeptics who close their eyes and minds to the evidence before them. Nonetheless, major aspects of the world we’re experiencing need detailed examination.

Those who recall the assassination of President John F. Kennedy (and that of his brother Robert) will begin to understand that the truth behind the events of September 2001 will make no difference to the records of conventional 'history'. No matter what happened on the eleventh of September, the real culprits will almost certainly remain at large to pursue the ‘grand game’ of power over the life and death of their subject populations. 

            There is now no such thing as ‘proof’ of anything in the world; only evidence and the human ability to discern the truth can combine to provide clearer pictures of reality. That said, the ‘official’ version of events in the eastern United States on that date is a crock of excrement, as is obvious to anyone who has scrutinized it.

This report is by an explosives expert and is worth reading in full, as are the reports of explosive experts who anaylsed the first World Trade Tower bombing and the destruction of the Alfred P. Murrah building in the wake of the Waco tragedy, which culminated in a fire patently started by the ‘authorities’. But how many remember the details of Waco any more? How many (like me) remember seeing the first uncensored TV reports showing a government agency tank with a stopped-up gun push holes in the walls of the Waco compound and fire a flame thrower into the building?

Why Indeed Did the WTC Buildings Collapse?

ABSTRACT

In this paper, I call for a serious investigation of the hypothesis that WTC 7 and the Twin Towers were brought down, not just by impact damage and fires, but through the use of pre-positioned cutter-charges.  I consider the official FEMA, NIST, and 9-11 Commission reports that fires plus impact damage alone caused complete collapses of all three buildings.  And I present evidence for the controlled-demolition hypothesis, which is suggested by the available data, testable and falsifiable, and yet has not been analyzed in any of the reports funded by the US government.

 Introduction

We start with the fact that large quantities of molten metal were observed in basement areas under rubble piles of all three buildings:  the Twin Towers and WTC7.  A video clip provides eye-witness evidence regarding this metal at ground zero:  http://plaguepuppy.net/public_html/video%20archive/red_hot_ground_zero_low_quality.wmv . The photograph below by Frank Silecchia shows a chunk of the hot metal being removed from the North Tower rubble about eight weeks after 9-11.  Notice the color of the lower portion of the extracted metal -- this tells us much about the temperature of the metal and provides important clues regarding its composition, as we shall see. 

Next, as a basis for discussion, I invite you to consider the collapse of the 47-story WTC 7, which was never hit by a jet.  Here is the building prior to and on September 11, 2001:

What did you observe?  

            Symmetry: did the building collapse straight down (nearly symmetrically) – or did it topple over?

            Speed:  How fast did the southwest corner of the roof fall?  (Students and I measure  [6.5 +- 0.2] seconds; time it!)

Smoke/debris-jets:  Did you observe puffs of smoke/debris coming out of the building?  Please note for yourself the sequence and fast timing of observed puffs or “squibs.”  Note that reference to web pages is used in this paper due largely to the importance of viewing motion picture clips, thus enhancing consideration of the laws of motion and physics generally.  High-quality photographs showing details of the collapses of WTC 7 and the WTC Towers can be found in books (Hufschmid, 2002; Paul and Hoffman, 2004), magazines (Hoffman, 2005; Baker, 2005) and at http://911research.wtc7.net/wtc/evidence/photos/collapses.html .

On the basis of photographic and video evidence as well as related data and analyses, I provide thirteen reasons for rejecting the official hypothesis, according to which fire and impact damage caused the collapse of the Twin Towers and WTC 7, in favor of the controlled-demolition hypothesis. The goal is to promote further scrutiny of the official government-sponsored reports as well as serious investigation of the controlled-demolition hypothesis. (No rebuttal of my argument can be complete, of course, unless it addresses all of these points.)…

Canadian researchers use stem cells to help spinal cord-injured rats to walk

 

Canadian researchers have used stem cells to repair spinal cord damage in laboratory rats, restoring significant mobility in the animals and bringing the search for a human therapy another step closer.

A team led by Toronto neuroscientist Dr. Michael Fehlings extracted stem cells from adult mice, which were transplanted into rats whose spines had been crushed. The stem cells developed into one type of cell destroyed by the injury - those that produce myelin, the insulating layer that cocoons the bundle of nerve fibres that make up the cord.

Injuries that crush or compress the spinal cord destroy its ability to regenerate myelin-forming cells, leading to paralysis.

Without the myelin sheath, "nerve fibres don't conduct the signals, they kind of short out and you don't get signals crossing," said Fehlings, medical director of the Krembil Neuroscience Centre at Toronto Western Hospital.

But rats whose spinal cords were injected with adult stem cells and given a cocktail of drugs - growth hormone, cyclosporine to prevent rejection and the anti-inflammatory minocycline - were found to walk with better co-ordination and weight-bearing ability.

As well, researchers were able to get those results even when the stem cells were injected two weeks after the injury; current therapies that attempt to save spinal cord tissue from trauma-induced destruction must be given within hours of injury.

"Our strategy wasn't to get perfect regeneration or to try to regrow the whole spinal cord," Fehlings said Tuesday. "Our approach was really to try to replace one missing cell type.

"The reason this is significant is that I think this is going to be a very doable strategy if we try to take these types of experiments into patients. Because instead of, say, trying to hit the home run and trying to reconnect all of the severed nerves, here we're taking cells and saying we want them to do one thing . . . to replace the missing myelin-forming cells."

The key to the success appears to be minocycline, a drug used to treat acne in young people, which reduced inflammation of the spinal cord and limited cell damage, said Fehlings, noting that it also appeared to boost survival of stem cells.

"We had a really high survival rate - about a third of the stem cells survived, which is quite high, and about 80 per cent formed myelin-forming cells," he said.

"So we were really encouraged about these results . . . and we think this is going to potentially be a very effective strategy down the road for patients."

Dr. Oswald Steward, director of the Reeve-Irvine Research Centre for spinal cord injury at the University of California, said the concept of using stem cells for spinal cord cell regeneration has been used by other scientists.

But Fehlings' work "breaks new ground in a couple of ways," by showing that adult stem cells work as well as the more ethically controversial fetal or embryonic stem cells and that the drug minocycline improved their survival, Steward said.

"The other thing is he found that you can do it if you inject a couple of weeks after the injury," Steward said from Irvine, Calif. "A two-week period, that puts you in a realm that's clearly feasible in a human application."

"This is an important step along the road. It's incremental, but it's a big step. It increases our understanding of the things we're going to need to do to make these cells work, so I think it's very important."

Dr. John Steeves, director of the International Collaboration On Repair Discoveries (ICORD), agreed the research moves the field forward, but said "there's still a long way to go."

"This is not the kind of technology that's ready for therapeutic application in a clinical setting," Steeves said from Vancouver. For one thing, scientists don't yet know how to control stem cells - the blueprint cells from which all the different cells of the body arise. 


"You want to be able to have them become what you want them to become," he said. "Right now we don't know all the various factors that would drive a stem cell to become a particular type of adult cell."

There's also the danger that stem cells could cause tumours, Steeves said. (Uncontrolled cell growth is the hallmark of cancer, and scientists increasingly believe that malignancies occur when stem cells go awry.) "You could cause absolute horrific consequences to a patient."

However, Fehlings said his team used a chemical marker to check that the stem cells weren't producing new cells that were growing out of control - a finding he called reassuring.

He predicted that stem cell replacement could be tried in people with compression spinal cord injuries within five to 10 years. The hurdle will be extending that two-week period of effectiveness so it might also eventually help people with long-standing paralysis.

"Ninety per cent of what we know about spinal cord injury has been learned in the last 15 to 20 years," said Fehlings, whose study appears in Wednesday's edition of the journal Neuroscience.

"And for me, what this indicates is that there really is hope for the future. We don't have the cure for spinal cord injury with this study, but I believe our work has brought us a significant step closer."
