Campaign group Republic has today called on the government to stop Prince Charles and other royals from influencing policy behind closed doors.

Revelations from the BBC show the royals are not above politics but mired in it.  Former ministers have admitted that the heir routinely interferes in controversial and divisive political issues.

Republic's CEO Graham Smith said today:

"The monarchy is not above politics, it just keeps its politics hidden from public view.  In a democracy that's not ok - no matter what excuses ministers make for this behaviour."

"Charles and his aides have had numerous meetings with government ministers since the last election - we know this lobbying is carrying on.  What the public don't know is how much policy is being shaped by Charles."

"Charles has a political agenda, one at odds with a lot of voters.  He is wading into some very controversial issues such as grammar schools, GM crops and alternative medicine.  The public has a right to know whether his agenda is having an influence on government decisions."

"The public needs to know the details: What is Charles lobbying for, and is he getting his way?  Whatever ministers might say to the BBC this royal interference is not acceptable."

"Of course Charles has a right to his opinion, but he can't have it both ways.  Either he's a politician or a prince.  If he wants to be involved in politics he needs to be accountable to the people."

"Charles is engaging in an orchestrated and concerted effort to influence government behind closed doors and beyond public scrutiny. He wants the power but doesn't want the public to know what he's up to."

"The government needs to come clean, reveal the extent of royal influence and the nature of Charles's lobbying of ministers.  Without that transparency our democracy is under threat."

Secret papers show extent of senior royals' veto over bills

Court order reveals how approval of Queen and Prince Charles is sought on range of bills

The extent of the Queen and Prince Charles's secretive power of veto over new laws has been exposed after Downing Street lost its battle to keep information about its application secret.

Whitehall papers prepared by Cabinet Office lawyers show that overall at least 39 bills have been subject to the most senior royals' little-known power to consent to or block new laws. They also reveal the power has been used to torpedo proposed legislation relating to decisions about the country going to war.

The internal Whitehall pamphlet was only released following a court order and shows ministers and civil servants are obliged to consult the Queen and Prince Charles in greater detail and over more areas of legislation than was previously understood.

The new laws that were required to receive the seal of approval from the Queen or Prince Charles cover issues from higher education and paternity pay to identity cards and child maintenance.

In one instance the Queen completely vetoed the Military Actions Against Iraq Bill in 1999, a private member's bill that sought to transfer the power to authorise military strikes against Iraq from the monarch to parliament.

She was even asked to consent to the Civil Partnership Act 2004 because it contained a declaration about the validity of a civil partnership that would bind her.

In the pamphlet, the Parliamentary Counsel warns civil servants that if consent is not forthcoming there is a risk "a major plank of the bill must be removed".

"This is opening the eyes of those who believe the Queen only has a ceremonial role," said Andrew George, Liberal Democrat MP for St Ives, which includes land owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, the Prince of Wales' hereditary estate.

"It shows the royals are playing an active role in the democratic process and we need greater transparency in parliament so we can be fully appraised of whether these powers of influence and veto are really appropriate. At any stage this issue could come up and surprise us and we could find parliament is less powerful than we thought it was."

Charles has been asked to consent to 20 pieces of legislation and this power of veto has been described by constitutional lawyers as a royal "nuclear deterrent" that may help explain why ministers appear to pay close attention to the views of senior royals.

The guidance also warns civil servants that obtaining consent can cause delays to legislation and reveals that even amendments may need to be run past the royals for further consent.

"There has been an implication that these prerogative powers are quaint and sweet but actually there is real influence and real power, albeit unaccountable," said John Kirkhope, the legal scholar who fought the freedom of information case to access the papers.

The release of the papers comes amid growing concern in parliament at a lack of transparency over the royals' role in lawmaking. George has set down a series of questions to ministers asking for a full list of bills that have been consented to by the Queen and Prince Charles and have been vetoed or amended.

The guidance states that the Queen's consent is likely to be needed for laws affecting hereditary revenues, personal property or personal interests of the Crown, the Duchy of Lancaster or the Duchy of Cornwall.

Consent is also needed if it affects the Duchy of Cornwall. These guidelines effectively mean the Queen and Charles both have power over laws affecting their sources of private income.

The Queen uses revenues from the Duchy of Lancaster's 19,000 hectares of land and 10 castles to pay for the upkeep of her private homes at Sandringham and Balmoral, while the prince earns £18m-a-year from the Duchy of Cornwall.

A Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said: "It is a long established convention that the Queen is asked by parliament to provide consent to those bills which parliament has decided would affect crown interests. The sovereign has not refused to consent to any bill affecting crown interests unless advised to do so by ministers."

A spokesman for Prince Charles said: "In modern times, the prince of Wales has never refused to consent to any bill affecting Duchy of Cornwall interests, unless advised to do so by ministers. Every instance of the prince's consent having been sought and given to legislation is a matter of public record."

Graham Smith, director of Republic, the campaign for an elected head of state, has also called for full disclosure of the details of the occasions when royal consent has been refused.

"The suggestion in these documents that the Queen withheld consent for a private member's bill on such an important issue as going to war beggars belief," he said. "We need to know whether laws have been changed as the result of a private threat to withhold that consent."

The Cabinet Office fought against the publication of the 30-page internal guidance in a 15-month freedom of information dispute. It refused a request to release the papers from Kirkhope, a notary public who wanted to use them in his graduate studies at Plymouth University.

It was ordered to do so by the Information Commissioner. The Cabinet Office then appealed that decision in the Information Tribunal but lost.

This is the current state of affairs when it comes to the painful issue of the ongoing nuclear radiation spills in Japan. Yet very few facts of the true extent of this global catastrophe trickle down to the forefront of the mass media and the collective consciousness at large.

Surprisingly the public who pay and will continue to pay the price with hard earned cash and the consequence to their health, seems quite content feeding on a diet of ready dished out trivia such as which Royal is wearing what hat? Who was not invited and who farts to the left... Some sense of priorities we have?!

In the same token; While too many Irish people are evacuated from their own streets to make way for a contentious Royal visit and protect the Queen, not enough Japanese people are evacuated from their own homes to protect them from the uncontrolled crisis of nuclear radiation that will plague their environment and ours for many millennia to come...

Yet the important announcement by TEPCO admitting that figures confirmed a nuclear meltdown took place at Fukushima as early as 16 hours after the earthquake on the 11 of March, paled in comparison to the world wide coverage and discussion on how elegant the Queen looked in white and which Irish public servant dared to bow before her. Some sense of priorities we have?!

When it comes to the British Monarchy Vs Nuclear Radiation competing for the headlines - British Monarchy seems to be wining hands down every time! Why is that? Is it really our warped sense of priorities? Or is there an organised, deliberate and well executed diversion of public attention away from an issue as important as self preservation?

I know it may seem obscure to entwine the British Monarchy with the issue of Nuclear Radiation. On the surface it may seem random and unrelated, but is it unrelated? Or could it be so related, that when the connections between the two are understood, all of a sudden the strange sense of priorities starts to make perfect sense?!

When the earthquake and Tsunami hit the east coast of Japan the media could not have enough of it. We had 24/7 on the ground reporting, with up to the minute updates of the unfolding devastation. But the moment it became clear, that the main legacy of this event is NUCLEAR RADIATION with capital letters, all the mainstream media was diverted to ‘Gaddafi’s abuse of human rights’ as if it was news and Japan was left alone to lick its own radioactive bleeding wounds, save the nuclear industry’s hyenas sniffing around for rich picking of the clean up operation of course.

Yes... The last thing the ‘Powers That Be’ (PTB) wanted was to open the door on the old age debate regarding the safety issues, the true cost and price we along with future generations, will end up paying for the so called ‘CHEAP’ ‘CLEAN’ Energy of Nuclear Power.

A truthful and honest debate will also not be welcomed by many in the ‘Global Warming Church’ who consider fossil fuel to be at least on par with ‘Satan’ and unwittingly promote the proliferation of Nuclear power as the next best thing since sliced bread, or the lesser of 2 evils.

However despite common public perception that those are 2 separate and distinct groups often at odds with each other, the truth of the matter is that at the top of what seems to be twin peaks, there is one cap stone and strange unity of purpose.

The Queen’s Death Star

Leuren Moret is a well known known Livermore nuclear weapons lab whistleblower. She is an independent scientist and international expert on radiation and public health issues serving as an environmental commissioner for the City of Berkeley. She conducted scientific research in 42 countries and contributed to a scientific report on depleted uranium for the United Nations sub commission investigating the illegality of depleted uranium munitions. Ms. Moret BS in geology MA in Near Eastern studies PhD in the geosciences, has years of experience in this field, so one can expect her to know a thing or two about the Nuclear Business.

Ms. Moret coined the term 'The Queen’s Death Star' to describe Earth. In an interview with Regina Meredith of CMN she went on to explain why:

“The Queen of England owns all of the uranium in Canada and Australia; she owns much of the mineral rights to those two vast regions. 30% of the uranium produced globally every year is from Canada. But, the Canadians have a law: The Canadian uranium cannot be used for any weapons purposes. It can only be used for instance, for nuclear power plants. The City of London bankers—the Rothschild’s are the Queen’s business manager. And, the City of London actually owns the nuclear power industry, and the Rothschild’s control Uranium prices and supplies, globally. We found this out during the 1973 oil embargo, when there was a surplus of uranium on the world market. But uranium prices started going up, and Westinghouse and G.E., whose designs are used in 85% of civilian reactors around the world; they also guarantee the uranium fuel prices when they sell the reactors to different countries, or entities. So, they got mad because they had to make up the difference—they had to “eat that increase” in uranium prices. So, they hired Dr. Jay Gould, a world-class statistician to find out why the prices were going up. And he is the one who unmasked the Queen."

In an article published on Rense.com Moret writes:

“Who is profiting from this global uranium nightmare? Dr. Jay Gould revealed in his book THE ENEMY WITHIN, that the British Royal family privately owns investments in uranium holdings worth over $6 billion through Rio Tinto Mines. The mining company was formed for the British Royal family in the late 1950's by Roland Walter "Tiny" Rowland, the Queen's buccaneer. Born in 1917 through illegitimate German parentage, and before changing his name, Roland Walter Fuhrhop was a passionate member of the Nazi youth movement by 1933, and a classmate described him as "...an ardent supporter of Hitler and an arrogant, nasty piece of work to boot." His meteoric rise and protection by intel agencies and the British Crown are an indication of what an asset he has been for decades to the Queen, as Africa's most powerful Western businessman. Africa and Australia are two of the main sources of uranium in the world.”

Filmmaker David Bradbury made BLOWIN' IN THE WIND to expose depleted uranium bombing and gunnery range activities contaminating pristine areas of eastern Australia, and to expose plans to extract over $36 billion in uranium from mines in the interior over the next 6 years. Halliburton has finished construction of a 1000 mile railway from the mining area to a port on the north coast of Australia to transport the ore. The Queen's favourite American buccaneers, Cheney, Halliburton, and the Bush family, are tied to her through uranium mining and the shared use of illegal depleted uranium munitions in the Middle East, Central Asia and Kosovo/Bosnia.

The major roles that such diverse individuals and groups as the Carlyle Group, George Herbert Walker Bush, former Carlyle CEO Frank Calucci, the University of California managed nuclear weapons labs at Los Alamos and Livermore, and US and international pension fund investments have played in proliferating depleted uranium weapons is not well known or in most instances even recognized, inside or outside the country.”  

Who owns the news?

We are all familiar with the saying “It is all about Oil’ Maybe it is all about the war between oil and uranium? However unlike ‘Oil’ which made some strange bedfellows, the uranium club is kept far more exclusive and is far less scrutinised.

Some may rightly argue that the fact that the uranium club is owned and run by the power elite is not enough to explain away the media silence, collusion, or omission of dissenting voices. But it all starts to make sense when one delves into who owns the mainstream media? How it is run? And how it is used as a tool of mass mind control designed to created public perception to support very particular aims.

We don’t need to go that far to demonstrate that large % of what is published by news outlets the world over is derived from only 2 main sources; Reuters and Associated Press. One just needs to know who owns those 2 organizations. Yep, You guessed it, as  Humphrey Bogart once said "here you will find the usual suspects": According to Eustice Mullins’s book 'Who Owns the TV Networks' - The House of Rothschild bought Reuters news service in the 1800's and Reuters bought the Associated Press in the last 20 years…

What is a banker dream come true?

Surely it must be money plucked from thin air! Indeed, they are not that far off from achieving it – Apart from creation of new money by fractional landing, we now have ‘Carbon Trading’ literally money plucked from thin air. Who do you think will run the Carbon stock market?

When countries and Industries are set to be taxed heavily for their carbon emissions they’ll be nudged ever more closer to accept the idea of buying a Nuclear Reactor or two. Nuclear Reactors are highly expensive to build and governments who wish to build them will need to loan the funds to make it happened. You can be rest assured the bankers of this world (naming and shaming is no longer necessary) are not going to say NO! Especially when they also control the price of nuclear fuel.

Monopoly Game

It does not end there: Competition is a dirty word in their monopoly game - Have you ever wondered by which mechanism innovations are manipulated to either go the ‘charge on tap - make a fortune by the PTB’ way or disappear into oblivion never to be heard of again? Here is one way to go about it:

While writing this post I noticed a twit from the ‘Prince’s Mayday Network’ it said: “Today is the last day to apply for the Mayday Rothschild mentoring programme for environmental startups”

‘Interestingly timely’ I thought and followed the link. As expected here is what I found:

“The Prince’s Mayday Network (‘The Prince’ meaning Prince Charles in case one wonders) is launching a mentoring programme with Rothschild, a leading member of the Mayday Network. The mentoring programme will match up employees from the investment bank (the mentors) with environmental start ups (the mentees). It aims to give these small companies professional business support and a sounding board for advice in the early stages of their business growth.”

The mentees will be chosen by the Rothschild mentors through a selection process. No surprise there. But here is the real sting - “The Mayday Rothschild Mentoring Programme will give mentors a unique opportunity to gain insight into the latest innovations going out to market and the problems that small businesses face.”

What a surprise... Here is how I read it: The Programme will give the Rothschild’s a unique opportunity to gain insight into the latest innovations going out to market and the problems that small businesses face, so they can better understand how to manipulate the money supply in relation to the latest innovations; restrict it to those who want to save the world with simple cheap truly green solutions and take over those that promise charge on tap - make a fortune quick and not a threat to industries already cornered within their control.

Ah... yes, I forgot to mention it also state: “Mentees should have limited experience in setting up their own business” I wonder why? Is it because those who know something about it will not be such an easy pray?

"Shortly before she died, Diana wrote a chilling letter to her former butler Paul Burrell saying she had entered 'the most dangerous phase' of her life. She spoke of a plot to tamper with the brakes of her car to cause a crash and 'serious head injury'."

The mother of Diana's driver, Gisele, 83, said: 

“We believe there was a plot to kill the Princess. We know in our hearts that our son was murdered and we still live in hope that one day the truth will be known.”

Tormented by fears of assassination, Diana also appeared to predict her own death during a confidential meeting with the late Lord Mishcon in 1995. He later wrote an aide-memoire of the conversation.

Part of it says: 

"Efforts would be made if not to get rid of her (be it by some accident in her car, such as a pre-prepared brake failure or whatever) at least to see she was so injured as to be declared unbalanced."

The lawyer added: “She was convinced there was a conspiracy.” [2]

The Motives

According to investigative writer Alan Power, the Princess was keeping a journal in which she wrote about the sexual affairs of the British Monarchy.

He added:

"The dossier she was compiling was powerful stuff. But it also directly endangered the monarchy. It contained what Charles liked in bed, women he had affairs with and what he got up to with Camilla. There are bits about a senior royal and a male servant."

"The royal was allegedly accused of being discovered in bed with one of his servants."

Mr. Power believes that this was the main reason why Diana was murdered. [3]

A biographer making a film about Diana's life received death threats 

Author Brian Watson claims that he received threats on his and his family's life, after claiming Princess Diana's fatal crash was caused by assassins.

Before making his theory public, he received a phone call threat: 

"Drop the idea if you value your family’s life."

After thorough research, he reached the conclusion that Diana's Mercedes was steered into the 13th pillar (!) of a Paris tunnel, with the use of a remote control device.

He believes that the assassins followed Diana's vehicle in a white Fiat Uno, which was seen by multiple witnesses, but never been found by authorities.

Mr. Watson now fears for his life and revealed, "I said to my co-writer: ‘Have I got too close to the truth?'"

His documentary will be entitled "Who Killed The Queen Of Hearts?", and Mr. Watson already sent the script to film studios. [4]

SAS hitmen on motorbikes swarmed around Princess Diana’s crashed car to ­“finish her off”, it was claimed...

Royal author John Morgan ­believes a squad of Special Forces soldiers disguised as press photographers had trailed her. And they were first to the stricken car after the smash in a Paris road tunnel to make sure she did not survive.

But Morgan, who has written nine books about Diana, says they made one major mistake during their mission.

They rode “heavy duty” bikes rather than the light scooters favoured by the Paris paparazzi at the time.

Morgan, who has spent 16 years researching Diana’s mysterious death, wants his claims to form part of Scotland Yard’s new probe into the 1997 car smash.

The inquiry was triggered by a former member of the SAS, known as Soldier N, who claims Diana was murdered in an ­Establishment plot for fear she would undermine the monarchy by marrying Dodi Fayed, 42.

He said: “There was a group of motorcyclists. They were seen by quite a few witnesses between the Place de la Concorde and the Alma tunnel where the crash happened. Those motorcyclists were riding heavy machines, big motorbikes.

“It’s been shown that those motor-cyclists were not paparazzi because the paparazzi were all accounted for and were way behind because they were on scooters.

“So the question is, who was on those motorbikes?

“It is a quite possible that MI6 employed SAS personnel to ride on those motorbikes.”

Mr Morgan is convinced the SAS men were on hand to ensure Diana’s injuries were non-survivable, as they proved to be.

He also believes three senior MI6 o­fficers moved to Paris shortly before the smash to co-ordinate the operation.

Australia-based Morgan says the claims of ex-SAS sniper Soldier N are a breakthrough in solving the riddle.

Soldier N is due to be quizzed by Scotland Yard after telling his wife that security forces caused the smash by shining a bright light into ­Diana’s driver Henri Paul’s eyes.

Former Royal Protection officers insist that Diana’s death was a tragic accident.

On August 31, 1997 Diana, Princess of Wales died as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris, France. Her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, and the driver of the Mercedes-Benz W140, Henri Paul, were also pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Many different reports regarding her death have been released…. including the anonymous letter that RAL received regarding the Diana’s death. In the anonymous letter much information is stated that Diana was murdered and that her death was not some sort of “accident.” Once again what you are about to read was an “anonymous” letter we received and not based on research from RAL.

The death of Princess Diana sparked much controversy and the original reaction of the public was that she was murdered. After a media campaign that called the event an accident and blamed the paparazzi, the public was divided on the issue. Examining the evidence makes this issue a lot clearer. The film “Unlawful Killing” examines the evidence that was largely concealed from the public for years. This movie can still be found on torrent. The evidence presented in the film includes:

Diana left a note saying that she was suspecting there is a plot to murder her in a car accident. This note was hidden for years after the murder.

Evidence used during the inquest was doctored, including blood samples, autopsy results, etc. For example, only a bottle of champagne was found at the driver’s apartment when the police searched it, so the police searched it again and found a lot of alcohol. The blood samples of the drivers had numbers that are physically impossible.

Witnesses saw a bright flash in the tunnel at the time of the incident. A former MI6 agent revealed that MI6 had a plan to assassinate a Serbian leader by blinding the driver in a tunnel with a bright flash.

The ambulance ride took an incredibly long time to get to the hospital.

The media distorted the verdict of the inquest. The inquest found that Diana was murdered and other road vehicles were responsible for the murder, not paparazzi.

A white Fiat Uno was seen by witnesses at the scene of Diana’s death and left paint on Diana’s car. James Andanson owned a Fiat Uno and lied about his whereabouts on the night of the murder. James Andanson’s body was found in his burnt out white Fiat Uno. It was locked and the body had no keys on it. The fireman that found his body said that he saw two bullet holes in the back of his skull. The police declared that it was a suicide. How did he shoot himself twice in the back of the head and then set the car on fire, before he died?

People say that the royals are a harmless relic of the past. Instead of just enjoying their lavish lives that are paid for by the taxpayers, they are using their wealth and influence to murder people they don’t like. Sure, they don’t murder people with their own hands, but that doesn’t make them any less guilty. Diana’s murderers must be brought to justice. The actual assassins might be hard to find now that much of the evidence has been covered up and/or destroyed, but the people that ordered the hit can be located easily. These bloody aristocrats are living in luxury. Princess Diana tried to use her position to help people and she was murdered. Good always defeats evil and one day justice will be served.
