Thnaks for your comments. As to the large space, none is visible (at least not using Firefox at this moment). For those with poorer eyesight I suggest either using a voice reader or clicking on the links at the end of almost any post herein, which will take you directly to the (usually staid alck-on-white) original post.

As we rearely interfere with the writing style of authors on this site, altering things like sentence length would be unlikely - and a dire, real infringement of authors' moral and legal rights.

If you prfer Arial or Verdana to Papyrus (the font usually used here) then just disale the Papyrus font on your browser and it will default to your sans serif font of preference. Rudolf Steiner recommended a slight yellow tinge; we've used that or a 5% pink on occasion but the results are worse than white in most peoples' estimation. You can't please all of the people - not all of the time!

As to other points, we don't use html encoding at all, but the template and layout system provided by the host (google/blogger). When we've tried tinkering with their work at an html level in the past the entire site became unglued, so now we follow the KISS method.

So thanks for that; when we use pages on the site, rather than a blog template, we'll keep your suggestions in mind.

How distant is any future? Not so long ago women were chattel even in 'leberated' Western nations; only a generation ago they were still second class citizens and homosexuality was grounds for long incarceration (at least). Until a generation ago the US and Australia were not officially democracies, as they hadn't given the vote to all adult citizens for a full twenty-five years (the US gave the vote to southern blacks in 1965; Australia to all Aboriginal people in 1967, and this 25 year withholding period after enfranchisement is the simple definition of a democracy according to the UN). 50 years ago racism was still thoroughly widespread in the same 'advanced' nations to whom slavery had been considered a bible-backed necessity only a century earlier.

Environmental vandalism was barely recognised until a generation ago; full steam ahead so-called 'progress' at all costs was considered to be the only sane way of life. Almost everyone believed the world might end in nuclear armageddon at any instant. People lived with the belief that everything and everyone from them to the horizon could become superheated white ash at any moment. Hardly anyone dared speak out against the confabulated control freak superstitions known as religions, or question the dominant paradigm. Protesters, even when visible, were always a tiny minority. Vegetarians were virtually certifiable; wives could be thrown into mental institutions willy-nilly at the behest of their husbands.

Things are getting better, generation by generation. The sooner people opt out of contributing to unjust societies and make their own brave new ways in the world, caring and sharing with friends and loved ones (and strangers who soon become familiar friends), the sooner everything will grow healthier and saner.

We are all born of a world-tree that's scarred with the grafitti of our passions. We're all learning to EVOLve. We can all do better with the one thing we truly have and are - our time. Everything we do counts.

What's better? What's best? Dare to dream of paradise on Earth - for all - and have no doubt we'll be there sooner or later!

RBE sounds interesting.. Just for a moment or so, think of a distant future where we as a species have evolved and have no wars and no hunger. What kind of society do you think it would be, how would it be structured, how would it operate? I really don't believe it would be something born out of our current corrupt to the core "system" where money dictates everything and is the most valuable of all things. So yes, Zeitgeist movement is forward-thinking. I do not know if it is right or wrong, but I'm thinking how we as a species can be more productive and humane without compulsion of law or religion or other form of force upon individual. Only when we are forced by society to survive we become inhumane, violent, coveting, scheming, etc. Kill or be killed, steal or be stolen from mentality is born this way. We have the resources, it is the management of it that matters. The current system is pure abuse and waste of time and resources. It is at the end of its life. Time for a change.

The problem is that between the “end” and the bottom of this page, there is a HUGE gap and I wouldn't have known there was even a bottom if you had not mentioned it.

You need to tighten up you web design, as what is below and the article need there own tags. You might want to change your site to a Content Management System (CMS), like Wordpress or Drupal. At least get it into HTML 5.

Your website needs to be in a “container”, with width dimensions. This way, the whole page will always be seen, no matter how much I enlarge it, as I usually do.

Many people have large monitors and, like me, sit about 4 ft. or more away from it. When I enlarge it, the whole page gets larger. This is not good.

Part of the reason that I like to enlarge it is because of a basic graphic design and news paper rule. Sentences should be not much larger than 2 alphabets. That's between 52 and 60 characters. This is also why most books never have sentences larger than that. It's just easier to do.

You can type on a word processor page and change length of sentences between 52 and 60. I find 57 to be the optimal width. This actually makes it easier to read down the page making the reading go faster.

You should have the left column in it's own container. In HTML 5, there are different rules too, than HTML 4, but not that different.

Also, you need more contrast between your text and background. Black on white is the most obvious, but white on black the worst. White on a medium blue is hard to read. I read the stuff and sometimes I don't because it is harder to read and there is just so much real news that I have to read everyday.

I like your stuff, it's just that I'm older and my eyes are not as good as they were, so they get tired easier and start to hurt. So I avoid reading some websites when my eyes hurt and yours is one of them.

Having white on blue, especially since you use a font which is harder to read than a sans-serif font like Verdana or Arial. The resolution on computer monitors is still not as good as they need to be to use serif fonts, with hooks at the end of the letters.

If you want to sin and use white, then darken the blue background and put between 1 to 5 % orange or red in the font color. This is a trick I use because it makes the text pop and easier to read. Just don't overdue it and test.

Your left column should not affect the rest of the stuff at the bottom, as it should be in it's own container, allowing it to float to right under the bottom of the article. The bottom of the article looks like it is the bottom of the page to most people.

Anyway, the bottom of your page is can be deep, but need to tighten it up so that more people will stay and read what you take your time to publish and/or write too.

One last important fact. Almost all people come to the Internet for one reason. To gather information. Your website is very much about important information. So making it as easy as possible for people to stay and gather what you are conveying should be your number one priority, using design is assisting in that.

Hope this helps, as I do like what you publish, it's just hard to read.
