The Only Way to Save the World is to Save Yourself

The Only Way to Save the World is to Save Yourself

 Familiar Python by R. Ayana

“We are not here to save the world. We are here to save ourselves, but in doing so, we save the world.”

As I write this, some shit is probably going down at Standing Rock. For anybody awake to the tyranny at hand, the events of the last few months have weighed heavily on our hearts. But the thing people need to remember is this: We’re all Native Americans. If you were born in the USA, and you love the land you were born on (which includes the entire fucking planet, by the way!), you are a Native American. You are a Native Earthling, for shit’s sake.

It’s all connected. Their fight is our fight. Skin color is irrelevant. Where you were born or where you migrated to is irrelevant. The only thing relevant is this: are you for freedom, life, cooperation, and love; or are you for statism, profit, divisiveness, and violence? As Derrick Jensen said, “We are the governors as well as the governed. This means that all of us who care about life need to force accountability onto those who do not.”

The media (even the alternative media, mind you) is trying to spin this as a land issue, or a Native American issue. But it’s not. This is a freedom versus tyranny issue. This is an anarchy versus statism issue. This is a life versus entropy issue. All land is free. We just need to quit focusing on imaginary lines and think cooperation first, competition second. All human beings are free. We just need to quit being obsequious to state-driven authority and start asking (and answering) the tough questions.

The only way to save the world is to save yourself. The only way to save the land from being poisoned is to save yourself from being poisoned (and from poisoning the land, yourself). The only way to save the environment from pollution is to save yourself from pollution (and from polluting the environment, yourself). In other words: The only way to save the Crashing Plane that is the Human Race is to put the oxygen mask on yourself first before attempting to put it on anybody else, and especially before attempting to right the plane. The oxygen mask, if you haven’t gathered already, is a metaphor for health, awareness, and truth.

Save Yourself

“Only the individual can rise to the heights of consciousness and awareness. The more you belong to the crowd, the deeper you fall into darkness.”

Saving yourself is putting on the oxygen mask of health, awareness, and truth. But what does that mean? It means questioning yourself to the nth degree, to the point of self-interrogation, and then questioning some more. It means psychosocial upheaval. It means getting uncomfortable. It means admitting you are wrong. In short: It means pain, existential pain of monumental proportions.

Why is it so painful? Because much cognitive dissonance must be navigated. Everything that you’ve taken for granted as a fundamental truth must be turned inside out and given proper scrutiny. After such scrutiny, you will likely find that you were wrong about a great many things. But the only tool you need to weigh yourself against your deep questioning is the following anonymous quote: “When an honest man realizes that he is mistaken, he will either cease being mistaken or cease being honest.”

The question is: Do you have the courage to be honest with yourself? Because if you honestly choose the moral side of freedom, life, cooperation, and love, then you’re going to have to admit that statism provides none of these. It only sells the illusion of these.

Statism is about profit, ownership, divisiveness, and violence. It steals people’s freedom by enforcing, and profiting on, outdated and unjust laws (but only if the person believes in the law). It stifles life and human flourishing through calculative debt slavery and by convincing people into believing in an illusory debt. It creates physical divisiveness by drawing imaginary lines in the sand and declaring them “borders.” It creates psychological divisiveness through xenophobic nationalism and conditioned flag worship, setting up an us-versus-them mentality. When, really, the only us-versus-them mentality that holds any moral weight and intellectual validity is the freedom versus tyranny position.

Statism is tyrannical. There’s simply no way to wiggle out of this fact. It teaches authoritarianism and oppression. It teaches the individual to oppress and to tyrannize him/herself and others. It teaches people to blindly follow and obsequiously respect authority. It teaches extortion and violence. For if the authority of the state is not obeyed, or its many outdated and immoral laws are not followed, the individual is forced, violently if need be, to acquiesce. Comply or die, is what it comes down to. Either that or your freedom is taken away from you.

So, when it comes down to it, saving yourself is, first and foremost, waking yourself up from the spell that statism has over you. And then it’s breaking that spell. Break that particular spell, and freedom is at hand. Break that particular spell, and (your) life begins. Break that particular spell, and you free yourself to learn how cooperation and love actually work, because you will finally begin taking responsibility for your own shit. No Masters. No rulers. That means taking responsibility for yourself and your own actions as a social creature on an interdependent planet. No more leaning on the crutch of authority. No more codependence on the state. Saving yourself is choosing freedom.

Save the World

“The modern hero, the modern individual who dares to heed the call and seek the mansion of that presence with whom it is our whole destiny to be atoned, cannot, indeed must not, wait for his community to cast off its slough of pride, fear, rationalized avarice, and sanctified misunderstanding. ‘Live,’ Nietzsche says, ‘as though the day were here.’ It is not society that is to guide and save the creative hero, but precisely the reverse. And so, every one of us shares the supreme ordeal––carries the cross of the redeemer––not in the bright moments of his tribe’s great victories, but in the silences of his personal despair.”
~Joseph Campbell

So, you’ve saved (freed) yourself from the grip of the state. What comes next? Freeing others, of course. But not so fast. Just because you’re free from the state, doesn’t mean the state isn’t still there, rearing its ugly head. It is still there, oppressing and extorting. It is still there, tyrannizing and destroying the planet under the guise of progress. It’s still there, trying to suck you back in. It is still Goliath and you are still David. And just because you recognize statism as tyranny and oppression, doesn’t mean that others do. Remember: most people are devoted statists who don’t even realize they are statists. Yes, the ignorance is that thick. But, I digress…

You’ve secured your “oxygen mask” on the crashing plane that is the human race. Now it’s time to start helping others to secure their own masks. The problem here is: you can’t control other people. And, really, you don’t want to. You want people to be free, after all. That means you’re going to have to convince them. You’re going to have to be creative. You’re going to have to use your imagination and come up with novel ways to persuade them into being healthy. Yes, sadly it has come to that. The only way to bring health to those who are all-too-well-adjusted to a sick society, is to sell it.

The real kick in the pants is: most people don’t want to hear what you have to say. People are wrestling with their own cognitive dissonance. People are caught up in their own state driven conditioning and brainwashing. Those cops “serving and protecting” the enforcement of the unhealthy, unsustainable, climate changing (game ender) North Dakota pipeline, are all wrestling with their own cognitive dissonance, conditioning, and brainwashing. They’re simply losing their own inner battle and coming up with the only thing they know: the cowardice and violence of a statist.

So, it comes down to this: What do we (those who are already free and have their oxygen mask securely fastened) do against the cowardice and violence of the inured statist? We teach. We use our imagination to persuade them away from the unhealthiness of the state and toward the healthiness of freedom. We lead by example, influencing them with our courageous words and our actions. We coax them into freely putting their own oxygen mask on. For we know that volition is paramount if freedom is to be had. Force is the way of the state. Violence is the way of the state. A free human being helping others to be free must never use force or violence, lest they wish to be a tyrant. An authentically free human being wishes other human beings to be just as authentically free.

But, and here’s the rub, as Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Your right to waive your fist ends one inch from my nose.”

This means that when our health and freedom are under attack, we are morally justified to defend ourselves. And so, the most important thing we can do as free people, as individuals who have our oxygen masks securely fastened, is to stand our ground. To protect ourselves. Which, by extension, means protecting that which immediately sustains us: water, and the land that grows our food. The worst thing we can do is back down and play the pacifist. Like Derrick Jensen said, “Love does not imply pacifism.” The Goliath that is the state will trample all over pacifism. Indeed, the road to an unhealthy, unsustainable, immoral, and violent world is paved with pacifism. It’s paved with people turning a blind eye. It’s paved with the inaction of people who recognized evil and did fuckall with it.

At the end of the day, Goliath (the state) is going to be Goliath. But Goliath is only Goliath because people believe in it. We dismantle goliath by convincing people not to give into Goliath’s unhealthy and unsustainable song and dance. First, we extract ourselves from being Goliath by transforming ourselves into courageous Davids. Then, we attempt to extract others from being Goliath. And if we cannot, we stand our ground and point out their cowardice and violence as unacceptable. We draw a line in the sand. We stand our ground. We protect our water. We declare, right in the face of the Goliath state, these courageous words by Thoreau: “I was not designed to be forced. I will breathe after my own fashion. Let us see who is the strongest.”

Government: Mind Control and the Illusion of Authority

Government: Mind Control and the Illusion of Authority

 Charisma by R. Ayana

Government is the illusion of authority, but more importantly government is mind control.  Naturally, since if you want people to believe in this fictitious thing called ‘authority’ you first have to mold the minds of the collective to accept this false ideology.  This is what government is.  It’s the illusion of some “official” group of people out there who get to tell everybody else what to do and how to do it.  The truth is there is no such thing as authority, and government is an illusion that we’ve imposed upon ourselves from the irrational thinking of a controlled mind.

screw head government illusion

It’s generally agreed that the power of government ultimately comes from the people.  Governments seem to have rights that individuals do not.  And it’s agreed that it is these individuals that make up government.  It doesn’t take much critical thinking to realize that individuals are granting power that they don’t possess to a group of other individuals who call themselves ‘government’.  One cannot delegate a right that they do not possess individually.  This is one of the fundamental reasons why government is completely and utterly fallacious.

Jan Helfeld has done some great work exposing politicians’ flaws in reasoning.  He uses socratic questioning to expose these politicians’ holes in logic and pulls the rug out from under their philosophical viewpoints on politics and government as a whole.  In this interview he gets Senator Bernie Sanders to admit that he thinks you can delegate a right that you do not have.

Jan interviews these politicians and asks them a series of questions:

Is all legitimate governmental power derived from the people?  They all unfailingly answer Yes.

Do individual citizens have the right to initiate force against others who have not initiated or threatened to initiate force against them?  Sometimes it takes them a second but they always answer, No.

If they don’t have the right to initiate force against others, could they have properly delegated that right to the government?  In this interview Bernie finally answers, “Well, I guess they have.”

Can you properly delegate a right that you do not have?  The response is usually, “Get the hell out of my office!”

Jan gets these politicians to admit to their own contradictions in their statist philosophy.  Often times they get so infuriated by their own cognitive dissonance they storm out of the interview.  In one interview the guy actually stole Jan’s tape, probably because they were so embarrassed for admitting their own logical fallacies.

mental slavery

Can you delegate a right that you do not have yourself individually?  No, of course not.  That doesn’t make any sense at all.  And neither does ‘govern-ment’, or as we’ll learn, ‘mind-control’.

Mark Passio rights

Nobody has the right to throw stones at babies.  But if enough people get together and label themselves “government”, then those people now magically have the right to throw stones at babies?  Or say, execute another human being, which is something they actually do do. Whoops I said do-do, what an appropriate pun.

Moving on,  if enough people who do not have the right to throw stones at babies get together as a collective and give themselves a fancy name, do they then have the right to throw stones at babies?  I don’t think so.  This is what government is and you have to be mind controlled to beLieve in it.

new shackles

“The whole thing of ‘Power corrupts’ sort of implies that there is a step in between.  You have power and then you become corrupt. Power IS corruption.”
-Larken Rose

government is not the cure

Governments also force us to pay ‘taxes’ which are forced upon us with the threat of violence.  It is arguable whether there is an actual law that makes us pay our taxes.  I don’t think there is, but either way I’m not going to concern myself with man’s laws when I know that Natural Law is all there is.  If you do decide to pay your taxes, just know that you’re funding terrorism, at least in the U.S.  For if you do, you are just another order follower, perpetrating harm against others.

I like to think I’m a good person and wouldn’t want to participate in that myself personally.  I now understand how the system works.  Most do not, so I would never want to blame the people for the sick system they find themselves in.  It’s not your fault.  But if you participate in our corrupt socio economic system, you’re just making it worse.

Natural Law
knowing rightsAuthority doesn’t really exist. It’s all in our heads. What does exist is Natural Law, or the Golden Rule.  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.   Natural law is a philosophy that certain rights or values are inherent by virtue of human nature, and universally cognizable through human reason.

The United States Constitution does not grant us rights.  We possess these rights the moment we are popped out of our mothers’ vagina.  They are inherent to us as humans.  We don’t need an authority figure to tell us what rights we have as human beings.

It is easy to figure out what rights we have by using apophatic inquiry.  In other words by asking what rights we do NOT have first.  We don’t have the right to cause harm to others.

apophasis

As long as we are not violating the golden rule, we’re good.  You don’t have to worry about breaking man’s rules since you know you are a good person and wouldn’t want to cause harm to others.  Sometimes it’s required to break man’s laws in order to follow natural law, and continue to not harm others.  Personally, I think we are born with the knowledge of what is right and what is wrong.  We learn to do wrong to others from our sick society.

right vs wrong

“Nothing in this world, nothing, works the way you think it does. There’s always more to the story. Banks do not loan money, governments are not empowered to protect you, the police department is not there to serve you, institutions of higher learning, colleges and educational institutes, are not there to educate you. The entire superstructure of civilization in the Western world is a combination of brilliantly put together and well-planned schemes to direct the minds of the people in such a way as to serve their masters.”
-Jordan Maxwell

Mark Passio on Politics

Mark Passio has gone to great lengths to make this information easily digestible.  We have him to thank for many of these infographics.  His lectures on youtube are also very educational.

Larken Rose is an author that delves deep into this heretical subject of self governance and the illusion of authority.

Government is mind control.  No, really that’s what it literally etymologically translates to.  Govern comes from the Latin verb gubernare: “to control,” or “to rule with authority.”  Ment translates to “mind”.

Government Guvernare

The etymology of the word ‘government’ has been well established with GOVERN meaning to ‘control or steer’ and MENT derived from Latin meaning ‘mind.’ Therefore, a direct etymological deconstruction of the word GOVERNMENT yields us the term ‘mind control.’ It is thus no fault of reason or logic to deem the ENTIRETY of government to be, by very definition, a psy-ops or PSYCHOLOGICAL OPERATION. There is only ONE true authoritative force that man must abide by and that is found within the natural forces that govern this world. This absolute truth has been no secret to countless native and aboriginal tribes across this sacred Earth. Man has erringly created an organized pseudo-authority, has granted them powers to enforce laws imagined and manifested out of thin air, and allows this organization to engage in the highest acts of violence to enforce these contrived, unnatural laws. These laws exist NOWHERE within the wind that blows, the trees that stretch up to the heavens, the animals that roam, the rivers that meander and the mountains that tower above. Man cannot create laws that do not exist wthin the natural order. This power he dreams up and by dreaming it up has created a nightmare in his waking world. When man creates false laws he does the first injustice to himself and his world by breaking the laws of the Great Spirit.

larken rose right to rule

“Most people prefer to believe that their leaders are just and fair, even in the face of evidence to the contrary, because once a Citizen acknowledges that the government under which he lives is lying and corrupt, the Citizen has to choose what he or she will do about it. To take action in the face of corrupt government entails risks of harm to life and loved ones. To choose to do nothing is to surrender one’s self-image of standing for principles. Most people do not have the courage to face that choice. Hence, most propaganda is not designed to fool the critical thinker but only to give moral cowards an excuse not to think at all.”
 –Michael Rivero

Anarchy vs. Statism

anarchy

Statism is the belief that people need some authority, government, or state to control every aspect of their lives.  Statists use violence and coercion to achieve their nefarious objectives.

statism

When there is state there can be no freedom, but when there is freedom there will be no state.  -Vladimir Lenin [Russian Jewish Communist who killed tens of millions of innocent people]

If you need violence to enforce your ideas, your ideas are worthless.  -unknown

Anarchy (Voluntaryism) is the idea that people are smart enough to take care of themselves.  Anarchy means ‘without rulers’, not ‘without rules’.  If people truly understood what it means to be an anarchist, to reject violence and live life peacefully, they would never go back to their controlled and oppressed statist lives.

anarchy not chaos

A very common refrain among statists is that, if we didn’t have “government” around to protect us, some OTHER gang of armed thugs might spring up and boss us around and take our stuff! First of all, how funny is it that their worst case scenario is that anarchy might lead to… having “government” again? “We can’t do away with ‘X’ because we might end up with ‘X’!” …Um, okay…  But statists who make such dire warnings also always miss the hugely important factor which is the mentality and perceptions of the VICTIMS of extortion. Right now, millions of people are PROUD to be forcibly subjugated and robbed. They call it being a “law-abiding taxpayer.” ..Statists also completely misunderstand basic economics. To maintain a gang of thousands of thieving mercenaries you need a really big, steady stream of loot. Right now “government” gets that by the VICTIMS proudly robbing THEMSELVES. Not only do tens of millions of people fill out stupid, complicated forms and send in money, without anyone directly threatening them, but most EMPLOYERS cooperate in the robbery of all the people who work for them. Because gee, it’s “the law”! “And we can’t go against the LAW, Dorothy!” (Auntie Emm was a freaking collaborator!)  Again, there is ONE gang capable of subjugating and perpetually robbing the American people, and it is the gang already doing it. And it can do it only because it has duped its victims into imagining legitimacy to the theft, into imagining its extortionistic demands to be “taxes,” and into imagining that NOT being robbed is a “crime.” How ironic that millions of devout statists vehemently DEMAND to have the ONLY gang which could pull off such a robbery (“government”), out of fear that some OTHER gang–which would never be able to pull it off in a million years–might do the same thing. Such is the lunacy inherent in statism. –Larken Rose

-Humberto Braga

For centuries the State has robbed people at bayonet point and called it, “Taxation”. Coercion and violence by the direct threat of confiscation or imprisonment. This is taxation. For centuries the State has enslaved people into its armed battalions and called it “Conscription.”
-Murray Rothbard

statism

I believe that people are good at heart.  We want to help each other.  We want to see others thrive.  People want peace.  We don’t like to see others suffer.  But when we find ourselves in a society that supports violence and rewards vehement competition, the selfish side of humanity is brought out.  Generosity has been replaced with greed, and altruism with narcissism.  We’ve learned to survive through Malthusian and Darwinian pseudo ideologies that use fear and the idea of human insignificance to control us.  Our society is sick and it is infecting and destroying our inherent humanitarian nature.  People are good but we are taught and conditioned to be bad.

To be sovereign means to be above the rule or reign of others.  Statists do not qualify.  Statists are slaves, but of course they don’t know that.  They think it’s normal because everybody else is a slave as well.  It’s normal to go along with the crowd.

People are afraid to stand up for what is right in fear of what others will think of them.  To truly be sovereign, we need to declare ourselves free, not only from the fake government, but also from the opinions and criticisms that others have of us.  If you yourself know that you are a good person, nobody else’s opinion really matters.

Order Followers

Order followers are ultimately the problem, not those who break man’s convoluted “laws”.  How many millions have been killed because they were following orders?  In WWII alone the answer is over 60 million.  Before that, in Bolshevik Russia, 66 million people were brutally raped, tortured ,and murdered by those “just following orders”.

If you are an order follower you aren’t using your own moral compass to determine what is right and wrong.  You’re just blindly doing what they tell you to do.  The world would be a much better off place if it didn’t contain so many order followers.  It’s imperative that we eradicate this disease called government, and the first step is to stop blindly doing what they tell us to do.

“Historically, the most terrible things – war, genocide, and slavery – have resulted not from disobedience, but from obedience.”

― Howard Zinn

order followers truth

Stanley Milgram wanted to know was how far humans will go when an authority figure orders them to hurt another person.  How would people behave when told to give an electrical shock to another person?  Well unfortunately as it turns out, people in this day and age are very good order followers and do what they are told without a second thought.  63% of people continued to administer electric shocks to the brutal end, even after the subject was screaming in agony.  This is a shocking example of just how far people will go to appease the authority figure and blindly follow any order given to them, independent of their own reason and moral compass.

In Summary:

It’s good to see that we’re working together toward a common goal; to destroy the illusion of government that so many have conjured up in their minds.  In the following video Mark interviews Larken and they discuss the religion of statism.  They speak of this thing called  “authority” and the fact there is no such thing as a “good” government.  Power doesn’t corrupt, Power IS corruption.

“By trying to reconcile contradictions in my own political beliefs, I proved to myself that “government” can NEVER be legitimate. It can never have “authority.” However necessary it supposedly is, and however noble the stated goal might be, I eventually realized that it is utterly impossible for anyone to acquire the right to rule others, even in a limited, “constitutional” way.

There are several ways to prove this, and each of them is astonishingly simple. For example, if a person cannot delegate a right he doesn’t have, then it is impossible for those in “government” to have any rights that I do not personally have. (Where and how would they have acquired such super-human rights?) Furthermore, unless human beings can actually ALTER morality by mere decree, then all “legislation” is pointless and illegitimate. If one accepts the principle of non-aggression, then “government” is logically impossible, because a “government” without the right to tax, regulate, or legislate (which are all threats of aggression) is no “government” at all. And just as no one can have the right to rule me, I can never have any obligation to obey anyone’s command over my own “conscience,” which rules out any possibility of any outside “authority.”

In short, I came to the conclusion that “government” is one big lie. It is a mythical, super-human deity which people hope will save them from reality. It is a superstition no more rational than the belief in Santa Claus, and infinitely more destructive. “Anarchy,” meaning a lack of “government,” isn’t just what SHOULD be; it is what is, and what has always been. And by hallucinating an “authority” and a “government” that is not there, human beings have created an incomprehensible level of violence and oppression, covering the earth and stretching back to the beginning of recorded history.

So now I spend much of my time trying to persuade others to give up the cult of statism. I do not advocate abolishing “government” any more than I advocate abolishing Santa Claus. I just want people to stop letting their perceptions and actions be so profoundly warped and perverted by something that DOES NOT EXIST, and never did. That is why I refer to the belief in “government” and “authority” as “The Most Dangerous Superstition.” If people could give up that superstition, even if they did not otherwise become any more wise or compassionate, the state of society would drastically improve. I don’t pretend to have the ability to make anyone more virtuous, but by pointing out to them the contradictions in their own belief systems–the very same contradictions I struggled with for years–I hope to help some of them reclaim ownership of themselves, so they can start thinking and acting as rational, sentient beings, instead of as the well-trained livestock of malicious masters. ”  –Larken Rose

Jan Irvin interviews Larken Rose as they discuss government and the fallacy of ‘ad verecundiam’, or the appeal to authority fallacy.  Unfortunately people will believe almost anything if some type of authority figure told them so, whether it be to poison every cell in their body in an attempt to get well, or to genitally mutilate their newborn sons.

Let’s look at some of the way our minds(mente) are controlled(governed).

mind control isn't jan irvin

“The politicians that commit all these crimes… they can’t do anything that we don’t’ have the power to do.  But what they do is they hide with all these costumes behind this illusion of government that we all buy into.  Oh, “the government”.  What is the government?  The government is nothing but people like you and I, who put on a halloween costume and commit crimes against others.”

larken rose anarchist

Government only exists our minds.  Sure, we have elected officials and institutions that make up this so called government, but the very concept is fallacious in and of itself.  We can’t give power to people that we don’t have ourselves.  It’s that simple.  Those that uphold this false ideology -that there are people out there that need to control our lives- have unknowingly fallen victim to slavery.

Slaves are much easier to control if they don’t know they’re slaves, and the vast majority do not.  They are victims of mind control and it’s up to you and I to help free these people from their mistaken belief system; to destroy the religion of government and set their minds free at last.

Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class — whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or entrenched bureaucracy.
